Childcare & kids' corner.

Selected locations look after children while you train: staffed childcare where our team watches your child, or an unstaffed kids' corner for older children who play on their own. See below which locations offer each service.

Staffed

Childcare.

Childcare is staffed: our team looks after your child while you train. Register and pay at reception, per visit or with a multi-visit card, and pick your child up within 1.5 hours. Children should arrive dry, rested and fed.

Age
No age limit on weekdays. At weekends the minimum age is 2, counted from the birthday.

Paid in advance at reception unless you have a valid childcare card. 15 and 30 visit cards never expire and are valid at every World Class childcare. The kids' corner is free for members.

Childcare rules.

The same rules apply at every World Class childcare. Opening hours and holidays are on each location's page.

  • Childcare is staffed. Staff look after your child while you train, and you pay per visit. The kids' corner is unstaffed. Your child plays on their own, under your responsibility, while you train. World Class members get free access.

  • A single visit costs 440 ISK. You can also buy a 15 or 30-visit pass at reception at locations with childcare. Passes do not expire. Pay for childcare in advance at reception unless you have a valid childcare pass, in which case the visit is marked off in childcare.

  • There is no minimum age on weekdays. At weekends the minimum age is 2, counted from the child's birthday. The number of children in childcare is limited. If it is full, staff may have to turn you away, but they will tell you when the next spot opens up.

  • A child should not stay in childcare for more than 1.5 hours at a time.

  • You'll find childcare opening hours on each location's page at worldclass.is. Childcare is locked outside opening hours, so children cannot play there at other times. If childcare is closed, you can use the kids' corner at other locations.

  • Your child should arrive dry, rested and fed. Children in nappies need a clean nappy on arrival, as staff do not change children. If a change is needed, the parent is called. There is a changing station in childcare and in the changing rooms. Staff do not put children to sleep. You can bring a sleeping child, and staff will look after them if they wake up.

  • No. Children may not bring or eat food or drink while in childcare.

  • Yes. The same childcare pass works at every World Class childcare.

  • No. The 15 and 30-visit passes do not expire.

  • Yes. Children aged 6 and over must be paid for at World Class reception when members bring them swimming. Children use the general changing rooms, not the the spa changing rooms. Swimming is free for children at Reykjavík's pools.

  • Yes. WorldFit Mömmur is a class for expecting and new mothers where babies are welcome. We also regularly run courses where children can come along. See the courses.

Unstaffed

Kids' corner.

The kids' corner is an unstaffed play area with toys and TV. It is for older children who can play on their own for a short while as you train. Parents are responsible for their children.

Kids' corner rules.

The kids' corner is unstaffed and children are their parents' responsibility. Good to know before your child goes in.

  • The kids' corner is for older children who can be left alone without supervision for a short time while you train. It has toys and a TV. It is unstaffed and not suitable for young children who need supervision.

  • Parents. The kids' corner is unstaffed and members are fully responsible for their children and their actions. Toys and a TV are available as long as you tidy up after your children.

  • No. The kids' corner is free for World Class members. Note that it is unstaffed and children are their parents' responsibility.

  • Same hours as the location. The kids' corner is open whenever the location is open.

  • No. Food and drink are not allowed in the kids' corner.
