Memberships

  • Family members registered at the same address get a 5% family discount on memberships.

  • Yes. World Class members swim for free at Laugardalslaug, Lágafellslaug in Mosfellsbær, Sundhöll Selfoss, Sundlaug Hellu, Árbæjarlaug, Sundlaug Seltjarnarness, Sundlaug Akureyrar, Breiðholtslaug, Jaðarsbakkalaug in Akranes and Sundlaug Vestmannaeyja.

  • Yes. Open group classes are on the schedule and included in memberships and courses.

  • Yes. Members get a discount on courses if their membership is valid for the length of the course. Without a membership you pay the full course price.

  • No. We do not offer freezing or pausing memberships for holidays or travel. If something else applies, email us at worldclass@worldclass.is.

  • Every membership includes access to all World Class locations plus Laugardalslaug, Sundlaug Seltjarnarness, Lágafellslaug, Sundhöll Selfoss, Árbæjarlaug, Sundlaug Hellu, Sundlaug Akureyrar, Breiðholtslaug, Jaðarsbakkalaug in Akranes and Sundlaug Vestmannaeyja. Members have access to all open group classes and get a discount on closed courses. Spa members get 10% off services at the Laugar Spa beauty and massage salon (gift cards excluded, and the discount does not apply in the online shop).

  • You cancel an open-ended contract (monthly subscription) yourself in Abler. Log in to the Abler app or sportabler.com, open your World Class contract and cancel it there. Cancellations are not accepted any other way, such as by phone, email or at reception. A fixed-term contract cannot be cancelled. It runs for the agreed term. Monthly fees are not refunded, regardless of attendance. See Cancellation in our terms and conditions.

  • Fitness members get two guest passes to the gym every month (minimum age 13). Spa members get two guest passes to the spa every month (minimum age 18). To use a guest pass, bring your guest to reception. Guest passes are not valid at Ögurhvarf, Dalshraun or Árbæjarlaug.

  • The student membership is a dedicated membership for students. It comes in two versions: • Student membership – Annual contract: a fixed-term contract paid monthly over 12 months. It cannot be cancelled and ends automatically on the last day. • Student membership – 3 months, 9 months and 1 year: one-time payments made up front. They expire automatically on the last day. No cancellation needed. Under 18s can buy the student membership directly at worldclass.is/kaupa-kort. Those 18 and over need to visit reception at their nearest World Class location with proof of enrolment (e.g. a student ID or confirmation from their school). The student membership covers fitness only, not Laugar Spa or the spa.

Payments and receipts

  • Yes. You make the first payment on the day of purchase and the next payment comes at the end of the period. That way memberships are always paid in advance.

  • Yes. You enter a debit or credit card number at checkout.

  • You can download all receipts from your account. Step-by-step instructions are on the help page.

  • You can change the payment card on your contract at any time. Detailed instructions are on the help page.

  • Open-ended contracts (monthly subscription) have a two-month notice period. You can cancel at any time and your membership stays active through the notice period. Fixed-term contracts (e.g. Annual contract or Student membership – Annual contract) cannot be cancelled and end automatically on the last day of the term. Discounts

  • Disability pensioners get 15% off memberships on presenting their card. The discount does not apply to 15-visit passes. Old-age pensioners get 25% off annual memberships and subscription contracts that give access between 08:00 and 16:00 on weekdays and unlimited access at weekends.

  • Yes. Members get 20% off a single visit to the spa.

Spa and hot tubs

  • Yes. As a spa member you get a towel at every World Class location except Dalshraun and Ögurhvarf.

  • The tub area at Tjarnarvellir has one hot tub and one cold tub, a dry sauna and an infrared heat room.

  • Kringlan has an outdoor tub area with one hot tub and one cold tub. There is also a sauna and an infrared heat room.

  • The tub area at Smáralind has one hot tub and one cold tub, a wet sauna, a dry sauna and an infrared heat room.

  • The tub area at Vatnsmýri has one hot tub and one cold tub, a sauna and an infrared heat room.

  • Seltjarnarnes has two dry saunas, one wet sauna, a foot bath and loungers. The spa is included in spa memberships.

  • The spa has six saunas at different temperatures, wet and dry, two of them infrared. Each sauna has its own scent and theme, including lemon, peppermint and lavender. You can experience birdsong and a running stream, a starry sky, a sunrise or the Austrian log cabins.

  • The group rate for the spa applies to 10 people or more. Send enquiries and bookings to worldclass@worldclass.is.

Childcare

  • Childcare is staffed. Staff look after your child while you train, and you pay per visit. The kids' corner is unstaffed. Your child plays on their own, under your responsibility, while you train. World Class members get free access.

  • A single visit costs 440 ISK. You can also buy a 15 or 30-visit pass at reception at locations with childcare. Passes do not expire. Pay for childcare in advance at reception unless you have a valid childcare pass, in which case the visit is marked off in childcare.

  • There is no minimum age on weekdays. At weekends the minimum age is 2, counted from the child's birthday. The number of children in childcare is limited. If it is full, staff may have to turn you away, but they will tell you when the next spot opens up.

  • A child should not stay in childcare for more than 1.5 hours at a time.

  • You'll find childcare opening hours on each location's page at worldclass.is. Childcare is locked outside opening hours, so children cannot play there at other times. If childcare is closed, you can use the kids' corner at other locations.

  • Your child should arrive dry, rested and fed. Children in nappies need a clean nappy on arrival, as staff do not change children. If a change is needed, the parent is called. There is a changing station in childcare and in the changing rooms. Staff do not put children to sleep. You can bring a sleeping child, and staff will look after them if they wake up.

  • No. Children may not bring or eat food or drink while in childcare.

  • Yes. The same childcare pass works at every World Class childcare.

  • No. The 15 and 30-visit passes do not expire.

  • Yes. Children aged 6 and over must be paid for at World Class reception when members bring them swimming. Children use the general changing rooms, not the the spa changing rooms. Swimming is free for children at Reykjavík's pools.

  • Yes. WorldFit Mömmur is a class for expecting and new mothers where babies are welcome. We also regularly run courses where children can come along. See the courses.

  • See locations with childcare and locations with a kids' corner. Opening hours for each childcare are on the location's page.

Kids' corner

  • The kids' corner is for older children who can be left alone without supervision for a short time while you train. It has toys and a TV. It is unstaffed and not suitable for young children who need supervision.

  • Parents. The kids' corner is unstaffed and members are fully responsible for their children and their actions. Toys and a TV are available as long as you tidy up after your children.

  • No. The kids' corner is free for World Class members. Note that it is unstaffed and children are their parents' responsibility.

  • Same hours as the location. The kids' corner is open whenever the location is open.

  • No. Food and drink are not allowed in the kids' corner.

Leisure card

  • The leisure grant applies to all one-time payment memberships: Student membership 3 months, 9 months and 1 year. It does not apply to Student membership – Annual contract (paid monthly), since that is a fixed-term subscription contract, not a one-time payment.

  • Ask at your nearest World Class location for general information about the leisure grant. Need more detail? Email us at worldclass@worldclass.is.

  • A parent or guardian selects the leisure grant at checkout on worldclass.is. The grant only applies to memberships or courses of at least 10 weeks.

Reception and service

  • Laugarbarinn makes a range of smoothies at Laugar. You can also get the drink of the month at Egilshöll, Kringlan, Smáralind, Selfoss, Seltjarnarnes, Skólastígur, Strandgata Akureyri, Vatnsmýri and Tjarnarvellir.

  • You can buy a water bottle at reception. There are also drinking fountains in the weight rooms.

  • You can buy a lock at reception. We also rent locks. You pay for the rental and get part of it back when you return the lock with your receipt.

  • Use our changing rooms and go straight out to the outdoor pool area or the indoor pool from there.

  • The minimum age for the weight room is 13.

  • Yes. You need to book most classes. Book on the schedule at worldclass.is or in the Abler app.

Personal training

  • Yes. Ask at reception about the personal trainers who do body measurements.

  • All payments for personal training go directly to the personal trainer.

  • Body fat measurement, body measurements, weigh-ins, nutrition advice, a training plan and solid accountability. Everyone has different needs and your personal trainer adapts the training to yours.

  • A weight room trainer is included when you buy a membership. Email us at worldclass@worldclass.is to book.

  • Personal trainers set their own prices.

  • One to four people can train with a personal trainer at the same time.

  • On the personal trainers page you can pick a location to see only the trainers who work there.

  • Personal trainers work as independent contractors. You'll find a list of every World Class personal trainer at worldclass.is and can contact the one you like best directly.

  • To train with a World Class personal trainer you need a World Class membership.

Group classes

  • Yes. You can join a waitlist when a class is full. When you join, a yellow box appears where you can leave the waitlist again. You can get into a class up to 50 minutes before it starts. The waitlist only applies when members book classes online. It does not apply at reception. If you don't get in from the waitlist, come to reception 5 minutes before class and ask about open spots.

  • All classes are cancelled on public holidays unless stated otherwise.

  • Over 500 open classes are available every week.

  • If you don't show up for a booked class and haven't cancelled in time, you land in the “penalty box” and can't book classes for the next three days. Cancel at least 50 minutes before class starts. Arrive before the advertised time. Open spots are given to others 5 minutes before class starts.
