When I discovered hot yoga, I was very impressed by how challenging it is, and how it conditions the body, mind and soul like martial arts. At first I approached it with a lot of competitive ego. But the longer I practiced, I realized there is so much more to it, and how the whole yoga philosophy is like the guidebook to the human animal many think we do not have.
Áhugamál:
Since I was 11-years-old I’ve been researching the anatomy and physiology of the human body, and ways to train it. I jump at chances to go dancing or to the movies. And I am a lover of the English language: reading, writing and editing. I am now expanding that love of language to learning Icelandic.
Uppáhalds matur:
The red bell pepper
Uppáhalds tónlist:
I so appreciate the power of music to affect our moods:
Dance to “Spin Spin Sugar” by Sneaker Pimps (Armand’s Dark Garage Mix)
Enter a room with my theme song of “Got to Give It Up” by Marvin Gaye
Work through any anger issues with the entire Candlebox debut album
Spend a rainy day at home listening to Norah Jones
Fire up your inner activist with Ani DiFranco
Grow humble yet inspired by Seal or Tracy Chapman
And anytime is a good time for 70s classic rock or 80s pop music
But the best song ever? “Urgent” by Foreigner
